Making Lunch for the Office
This is a topic I’ve struggled with for quite a while. I always end up with some sort of lunch (on the days I actually manage to get my act together and not just run out for lunch) in a plastic Target bag or something. Or the dreaded frozen meal, which you’re lucky if they taste like more than cardboard and you can handle the fact that you’ve probably just consumed your entirely...

The Quest for Grad School
It’s been three and a half years since I graduated college and I’ve spent most of that time figuring myself out and eventually trying to decide what to do with my life.  I’ve started and stopped going to school for English secondary education, attended bartending school, and came very close to go to cosmetology school to become a film make-up artist.  In January I sat myself down...

Dresses Everyday →
If you love fun, flirty dresses like I do and like me, also are on a tight budget, then check out this website.  I found it this afternoon and I can hear my wallet crying out from my purse, “oh no, we’re definitely going to have to go to rehab for this…”

Don't know where this is going, if anywhere -...
There we were, like two pieces of driftwood gliding along a lazy river current. No destination. No past to look back on. No home to return to. Two souls lost within bodily shells; too young to die, too old to live peaceably. Whilst we slept, minds alive, attempting to revive the memories of our human times, the passing world uttered not a sound of tree or bird. Even the water made no trickling...

Film/Cinema Makeup
Currently (not this second but over the past week and moving through the present), I am researching schools where I could get the necessary education and training to become a film/cinema makeup artist/designer.  This would involve not only high end fashion, but also creatures, prosthetics, and special fx makeup and hair.  As you might guess, most of the schools in this field are in California and...

My deepest sympathy
My heart goes out to Megan and Lindsay Cirigliano, girls I’ve known since elementary school, in the tragic death of their father Bryan yesterday morning.  The Manchester shootings were horrific news to Connecticut and really drove home the reminder that any day could be our last.  All of our state is in mourning for the 8 victims who lost their lives unexpectedly, especially the town of...

I found this article incredibly interesting and also disturbing.  Is it really a disease?  Why do all the large scale cases seem to happen in France?  TIME is investigating the matter which is not yet resolved.  Click the title above to read.

Album Pick of the Week
Today I acquired the album “What We Lose in the Fire, We Gain in the Flood” by The Mynabirds, which was released in April.         Definitely check them out if you’re a fan of Duffy, Florence & the Machine, Heartless Bastards, A Fine Frenzy, Feist, or countless other female fronted acts with an emphasis on irresistibly soulful melodies and vocals. Find them here: ...

A Poet Breaking Patterns
In recent years I have come to terms with my writing.  I have always loved the idea of creating a world outside my own, but never seemed to bring it to fruition at a depth that followed a classic story’s arch; an amazing journey with a captivating climax.  When I was young I wrote a number of stories, but never found my niche.  Even in the playwriting class I took in college, my characters...

Sorry honey, there's no wine in the vending...
Everyone has routines.  Some people, like me, have trouble starting them.  Some have trouble breaking them.  And others respresent an ideal; a spontaneous life full of mystery where every moment of every day is nothing like the last. Unfortunately, I am the common routiner, for the most part.  I get up, brush my teeth, get dressed, go to work, etc.  The events of the day may vary slightly, but...

Something tells me this is trouble...
In a feeble attempt to follow my friend’s blog, I seem to have created an account, customized all the settings, and may just in fact actually post things.  Oh, the ridiculousness! This is not my Facebook status; I do not intend to babble on about how I did laundry for four hours on Sunday afternoon or that I have a doctor’s appointment this week.  However, I do hope to promote my Etsy...
